STOCKTON WELCOMES FIREWORK DISPLAY SPONSORS

Stockton on Tees has, for a town of its size, as good a programme of public events as you will find anywhere in the country - and better than most. Probably one of its best attended is the annual "Fireworks Party" held on 5th November each year, when - according to police estimates - some 90,000 people watched a dazzling display in 2006. Local pyrotechnics company G2 Fireworks headed by the larger than life Jitu Desai [father to Miss Great Britain] has a well earned reputation for utilising the riverside firing position to best advantage, whilst local radio station Century Radio provided entertainment for the crowd from the road show with a 40kw sound system to keep everyone happy.
